Lahore factory blaze tamed; rescue efforts underway
LAHORE: The fierce blaze, erupted in a perfume-manufacturing factory, located in a Quaid-e-Azam Factory area of Township in Lahore, has been finally brought under control after five hours of hectic rescue efforts, Geo news reported.
Rescue and cooling process are still underway but thankfully no loss of life or injury was reported.
According to rescue sources, fire erupted late on Thursday evening at the ground floor of a factory, which engulfed entire factory in no time due to chemicals meant for manufacturing perfumes.
The rescue workers were rashly called in shortly after eruption of fire and it took them five hectic hours of intensive fire extinguishing efforts to bring blaze under control, witnesses and workers told reporters.
Fire broke out due to short-circuit incident but no confirmation was surfaced. Materials worth millions of rupees were left completely gutted accident, factory owner claimed.
