Bullish trend continued in the Karachi Stock Exchange on Friday and the KSE index reached the much awaited level of 10,000 points during its last trading session of the week.
The KSE-100 index closed at 10,025 after gaining 146 points towards the end of the session as healthy buying spurred the index to breach the psychological level of 10,000 points after 19 months.
Trading began on a positive note, though volumes were still relatively low as only 181 million shares were traded today. Foreign investors have been quite active at the bourse, while some local pickings also helped the markets cause. The twin blast in Lahore did damage the sentiment of the investors.

Five explosions have been reported in Iqbal town. The first blast occurred in an empty plot near crowded Moon Market in Kashmir Block. The second blast hit a car parked outside a house. The third blast also occurred in Kashmir Block. The fourth blast reported outside the residence of a Group Captain Inam-ul-Haq’s home in Zeenat Block. The fifth and the last blast struck Karim Block. Rescue teams and police have cordoned the area.
Panic and fear prevailed among the masses.
No causality has been reported. Cracker bombs were used in all the blasts.It was the seventh terror attack of the day in the city. Two blasts in Aray Bazaar this morning killed 40 people and injured 130 others.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that neither the PPP-led coalition government made any political victimization nor any political leader has ever been arrested.
He said the matter relating the torturing of protesting employees of National Program for Improvement of Water Courses by police was a provincial subject; however he had already discussed it with the concerned member and Minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar Muhammad Gondal.
The Prime Minister said his government had taken all political parties on board to evolve consensus on all major issues including the constitutional reforms. PM said that he has requested the American government to remove Pakistan from screening list. PML-N demanded that VVIP security should be beefed up.

Sebastian Pinera was sworn in as new Chilean President. During the ceremony strong aftershocks rocked the country for the second time in two weeks.
In Valparaiso, the city where dozens of heads-of-state and other dignitaries were gathered, citizens gathered on high ground after a tsunami warning was issued by local authorities.
The warning was later lifted for everyone except Easter Island but it followed three massive aftershocks, the strongest at 6.9 magnitude.
