Prime Minister Gilani has claimed that the state economy is getting stable, which has resulted into return of the investors trust.
The PM stated these views during the Economic Coordination Council (ECC) meeting, which was held in Islamabad today.
Sources said the meeting deliberated upon the imposition of regularity duty on chemical products, Port Qasim Navigation Channels extension and establishment of polythene plant. It is the first ECC meeting after the resignation of former finance minister Shaukat Tarin.
Addressing the meeting, the PM said that the implementation of the cabinet decision would be ensured, adding that all the decisions would be taken in countrys larger interests. He assured that significant uplift goals would be achieved within two years, adding that the reserves are at satisfactory level.

Mixed trend prevailed in the Asian markets, while Yen rose against 16 other currencies.

Australia met the target in just 48 overs with a loss of 4 wickets. Brad Haddin raced to his second one-day century whereas Ponting scored 69. The fourth match of the series would take place in Auckland on March 11.

Supreme Court has rejected the petition challenging the holding of by-polls in NA-123, however the elections result has been conditioned with SC ruling regarding the case.
A 3-member bench comprising Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Sair Ali and Justice Tariq Pervez heard the case.The petition was filed by a candidate Ilyas Gujjar in which he challenged the new nominations for the said seat.
The petitioners counsel Ahmed Raza Kasuri argued that the Election Commission has only extended the date and therefore new nominations could not be submitted. He requested the court to postpone the polls in the said constituency till the decision regarding the case.
The court rejected the plea; however, on request of the petitioner, all the parties have been issued notices besides the results of the elections have been conditioned with the apex court ruling in this regard.

A Rawalpindis Accountability Court reissued the warrants against six foreign directors accused in the Cotecna reference case against President Asif Ali Zardari, Nusrat Bhutto, AR Siddiqui and others.
